How to Make a Marshmallow Gingerbread House
Ok so you’re one of two people - team make-a gingerbread house, or team pre-made gingerbread house. I myself love a good gingerbread house but building them gives me anxiety--how do you even keep all the walls up anyway?! Good thing you can find pre-made houses at your local bakery or at big box stores. Then I get to focus on the best part, the snacking, I mean the decorating. And for decorating? You need XO Marshmallow baby.
Every winter people ask us how they can use marshmallows to level-up their holidays, and this year, we’ve got some great ideas...take your blank canvas of a gingerbread home, and use Ooey Marshmallow Goodness to pipe on the roof! This sticky marshmallow creme is soft enough to spread on the roof of your house, and will hold up to candies piled high. Not just meant for rooftops, OMG is great for decorating sugar cookies too!
Have a few marshmallows? With a quick toothpick and some edible marker, you can make an adorable marshmallow snowman, whose job it is to wave at Santa’s sleigh!
Marshmallows can also make great chimneys, and you can cut them into smaller pieces and use them throughout your house...and if a few go missing, well, I didn’t see a thing…
Another sweet addition? How about a pack of Marshmallow Treeats? Vanilla tree-shaped marshmallows dipped in sugary sweetness and holiday sprinkles? Yes please. Simply plop a few down around your gingerbread house for an instant winter scene. So easy and adds a great texture to your finished scene.
At the end of the day, no matter if you baked your gingerbread from scratch, or grabbed a pre-assembled one from the store, if you are precise with your end result, or just there to have fun, we hope you have the best time scooping, swirling, and snacking on your marshmallows.
